|The VA Loan Program – How it Works — The Department of Veteran’s Affair (VA) is a department of the Federal Government. The VA administers a guarantee program to help eligible veterans acquire a home for themselves and their immediate families with no down payment.
The veteran must occupy the home as his/her primary residence. The VA does not loan money for home purchases. The VA “guarantees” that the lender does not lose money if the borrower defaults on the loan.
In order to obtain a “VA loan” you must first obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, Cynthia Warner, Homeowners Mortgage, can assist you I this process. A VA certificate does not qualify you for a loan.
